The Customer

The film production company specializes in audio production services and recording studios that provide services such as music production, sound design, background scoring, dubbing, mixing, and mastering.

The Challenge

A contractor who previously worked with the production company claimed an insurance benefit for back pay related to COVID-19 in the summer of 2022 timeframe. In CLEARED4, this user had been answering the daily health survey as “no symptoms” until a certain date. Then they answered that they had “strong symptoms” and were instructed by their employers policy not to come to work and test for COVID-19. This was included in their medical claim. Their COVID-19 test result which was administered by a doctor was uploaded into CLEARED4 with a date/time stamp and indicated a negative result.

The Solution

When an infectious disease occurs in the workplace, employers must take measures to manage the health and wellness of employees and record confirmed positive cases and associated days away from work. Because medical data may be involved, you have to have HIPAA-compliant storage for that health information.
